Anaklia City/Special Economic Zone

The new Special Economic Zone will complement the port’s activity and transform the Anaklia project into a new city-scale economic driver for Georgia, a regional business and trade hub on the crossroads of Europe and Asia.

Anaklia City is envisaged as a frontier business destination for international companies to capitalize on its strategic location and the unique incentives it will offer as a result of its Special Economic Zone status.

Currently, JSC Anaklia City is in process of development Master Plan and Regulatory Framework for the Anaklia Special Economic Zone.

JSC Anaklia City is open to establish communication with potential investors and clients of the upcoming SEZ: transportation and logistics companies interested to locate their facilities or offices, light manufacturing companies interested to establish production facilities, industrial and logistics real estate investment and development companies, healthcare companies to establish presence in the zone, developers of residential, hospitality and entertainment real estate to develop properties in the zone, education companies/institutions to introduce their facilities and programs, financial companies interested to participate in development of financial center.

Special Economic Zone Overview

JSC Anaklia City intends to develop the city scale SEZ with the following features:

  • About 2,000 hectares of development territory
  • Special Economic Status defined by the Constitution of Georgia
  • Based on the concepts of green and smart cities
  • Initial stage – 400 ha for development of light industry and logistics clusters
  • Fully integrated with the infrastructure of deep sea port,  and national road and rail networks
  • International airport located in less than 90 km distance from the Anaklia site
  • Light industry cluster will be built upon the advantages of Georgia’s trade regimes, competitive production costs and attractive business environment
  • Logistics cluster will help to strengthen the role of Anaklia port as transshipment hub for the region and trade flows between Europe and Asia
  • Training and development cluster will strengthen the competitiveness of Anaklia as production and business destination for regional players and multinationals
  • Financial Center –  JSC Anaklia City plans to transform the Anaklia into commercial and financial center for the Caucasus and wider region
  • Tourism, entertainment and Real Estate – to complement the development of other business clusters and create the most attractive place to live in the region
