On 21 March, 14:00, Mr. Levan Akhvlediani, Director General of Anaklia Development Consortium and Mr. Yung Ho Yom, the Vice-President of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries signed a memorandum of collaboration.
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, the largest South Korean company came out the winner of an international tender arranged by the Consortium. The company is to supply gigantic cranes for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, which are going to be installed by HSHI, among the world’s top five ship building company. Along with the Consortium, the tender that lasted for a few months was led by the US SSA Marine, container terminal operator and BergerABAM author of the rational design. The major four international companies from Finland, South Korea and China reached the final stage.
HSHI is the world’s fourth biggest ship builder, which produces approx. 40 ships, tankers, container ships, bulk cargo etc. vessels a year, as well as the other marine facilities, including the state-of-the art cranes. HSHI’s annual turnover hits 400 bn USD.
